The definition of facilitate is "to make easy" or "ease a process." What a facilitator does is plan, guide, and manage a group event to ensure the the group's objectives are met effectively, with clear thinking, good participation, and full buy-in from everyone who is involved.
My key responsibility and goal as a facilitator is to create a group process and create an environment in which people can flourish. I support teams and help them reach a successful decision, solution, or conclusion, all within the confines of a safe and productive learning infrastructure.
To be an effective facilitator you must know when to take a leadership role, and when to be neutral and take a back seat. This is a difficult balance to maintain and the key is being proficient at the role through years of experience. I have over 20 years of faciltation experience, organizing and leading project efforts from small work groups to large global audiences. My passion is to engage employees by using
multi-dimensional and holistic facilitation methods.
